Leamon Green

Leamon Green is a visual artist based in Houston, Texas. The artist creates works that can be categorized along the traditional definitions of painting, drawing, and fine art printmaking. However, Leamon’s practice primarily uses the contemporary strategy of combining drawing, painting, and printmaking techniques into one work.

Recognizable imagery like figures, objects, and scenes originate from several sources, specifically the identity and experiences of the artist. African American, foreigner, student, teacher, family, ancestors, history, textiles, patterns, textures, and more.

Leamon received a Bachelors of Fine Art in Painting from the Cleveland Institute of Art and a Masters of Fine Arts in Painting and Tyler School of Art, Temple University. While attending both undergraduate and graduate programs he took advanced courses in the areas of drawing and printmaking.
